Checking and adding additional Home TV Channels.
You can check for additional Digital channels now and then by using the add feature for your unit or
by doing a rescan; while first checking the keep current channels check box; for channels
that may have been added after your initial channel scan, although some units are stuborn and require you
do a total new scan befor adding channels that became available after you locked in on a paticular
channel without additional services at that time.(2.1 , 3.1 69.2 only etc.
A little Television history and update:
There was a time when regular TV with programing supplied by Networks such as ABC CBS NBC and
FOX were transmitting analog over the air, and the only means for most to receive network programs
along with local news, then satellite came analog with analog picture and digital sound and later
all digital feeds came in to the picture. even then, viewers weren't about to give up their networks.
You can now get all those networks with digital quality on that old antenna; plus a lot more
with the new Digital method of sending video as 1's and 0's .
Over air Digital has advantages over the analog method.
You won't see a snowy picture.
It takes very little signal with no loss of quality as long as the signal level remains above
a level of 10 or more. ( For RCA units other unit S readings may differ
You can check this by pressing Main Menu then Settings and then Antenna signal level
on the hand held remote control that came with your digital tuner or TV.

So grab some pliers , a screwdriver and a converter box for those old sets and prepare to enjoy

Note: Due to some talk concerning the use of Digital TV on VHF channels I'd like to make
it know that I have no problem viewing stations on VHF; but then this test site is
far away from most things that cause such interference. and the one thing that could may be
prevented with a rear end rejection shield; although the chances are minute anyway.
